Know Before You Go

Just A Few Rules, Some Studio Etiquette and Things to Keep in Mind.

What Should I Wear?

Make sure you dress appropriately for the class: this means yoga pants, capris or any workout attire, etc. that allows for a good range of motion. Anything too tight and binding will not only trap moisture in, but also make you feel uncomfortable and weighted while practicing. If you are attending a hot yoga class (Hot Buti, Fire Flows, etc) do not wear too many layers and dress comfortably.
Avoid wearing heavy perfumes and always practice good hygiene.

Do I Bring Anything?

You do not have to bring anything but a willingness to practice, explore, let go and grow. We do strongly recommend students bring their own mats. We do have community mats available for those without and Bhoga mats for sale in our boutique. You may bring water bottles (no glass) and we have some for purchase. You can also bring sweat towels if needed. We have community bolsters, straps, blocks and blankets but you may bring your own if you'd like.
Leave your purses, backpacks and other personal belongings in the cubby area. Silence all cellphones to avoid distractions and leave them off the mat.

Do I Sign Up Ahead Of Time?

We strongly recommend that you book your class before coming in as space is limited and pay online ahead of time to make the check in process faster and easier.

Just head on over to the Yoga Schedule section or click on any of the buttons that say "Yoga Registration" to register for your first time and book classes. If it's your first time, you will be prompted to create an account. You MUST have an account to practice at our studio. After that you will be able to select our different class pass and membership options

You can also download the Momoyoga app on android or the app store once you have created an account to make booking classes much easier! Your login will automatically link to our studio. We do allow walk ins IF space is available.

Do I Need to Get There Early?

If it is your first time at the studio, we suggest arriving at least 10 minutes early to allow for proper check in and a quick orientation of the space.
Any other time, we strongly suggest students arrive to the studio 5 minutes early to allow time to set up and get in a good space.
Doors will be locked during class when class begins so please arrive on time.

Nutrition?

We suggest that you avoid eating a heavy meal right before class. Especially before any of the more dynamic and heated classes. You know your body and how it reacts to food so make sure to eat accordingly. A quick power bar or fruit is always a safe choice.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate throughout the day, especially before any heated classes!
It is also important to hydrate throughout the class if you need to and after.

Anything I Should Keep in Mind During Class?

Listen to YOUR body and respect your own edge and limits. No one yoga practice looks like the other. No one person looks like the next. Your practice will not look like your neighbors and vice versa. It's tailored specifically to you. Everyone explores and settles into yoga differently. This is why it's YOUR practice.

Do make sure you listen to the instructor and follow their guidance as you move from pose to pose.

Pay attention to the signs your body gives you when you may be reaching overexertion or pushing past your boundaries. Scale back when needed, take modifications - or if you know that you are able to in the moment, add intensifications. Again, this is about keeping your focus on your own mat and not anyone else's. This is truly a no judgment zone - and that also means self judgment.

Take a resting pose if you need to, pause for water and remember to breathe!

Avoid unnecessary conversation during flows and embrace the silence of the final savasana/meditation to respect those around you.

What Class is Best for Me?

The only person that can determine that, is you.
All of our classes are available to all levels of practice. That means from beginners to advanced. If this is your first time ever, do not let a class style intimidate you. All of our instructors are adept at offering modifications and assisting students settle into their practice.
We do offer a Yoga Foundations class for those that would like a more introductory, slowed and broken down yoga class. However all of our classes allow you to explore your yoga practice at your own pace.

Anything Else?

As always, check with your doctor before beginning ANY type of physical exercise if you feel that you need to.
Practice respect for others, for the studio, for our instructors and most of all, for yourself.
Just remember to breathe, to be in the moment and to truly enjoy yourself and allow yoga to be the journey that it needs to be for you.
